Welcome to our 'Work With Us' page.  Here, you can find information on what we are looking for in a Researcher and what you can expect when you work with us.  Please contact us if you have any questions or comments or e-mail your résumé to us at resumes@meridiankew.com if you want to start the application process.  We look forward to working with you.

Who are we are looking for?

Meridian Kew's Researchers are students and graduates who are intelligent, enterprising, motivated and innovative.  Researchers must be ready to be tasked with a project, either individually or as part of a team and work independently on the project to produce the best results possible using the internet, telephone interviews and any other relevant data collection methods.  As we work for a range of clients, special skills are always looked upon favorably particularly analysis and language skills.

Students and graduates?

Yes, the great majority of our Researchers are either students or graduates from the top universities in the United States.  We hire from these institutions as we believe that these individuals are most likely to provide the best candidates as they have already demonstrated academic and personal ability.   We look for skills and aptitude across a broad range of areas as well as specialized knowledge that can be used for specific client projects.

Why should I work for Meridian Kew?

Meridian Kew will challenge you.  The projects you will be given will be diverse in subject matter and research methodology.  We realize that our Researchers are bright, innovative and adaptable.  In order to achieve a task you will have to use each of these skills while familiarizing yourself with a new subject area and working to a deadline.

Meridian Kew allows you flexibility as to where and when you work.  As most research work can be done using the internet and telephone, you can work from wherever you have an internet connection and phone line.  We also understand that at some points you may be too busy to take on a new project or that you may only be able to work at certain times and it is never a problem if you can’t take on a new project.

Meridian Kew understands that you are on the look out for different careers and that you may be interested in working with some of clients in the future.  We are establishing methods of advertising to clients Researchers who may be potential employees and, with permission, providing them and others with details of your résumé and your work with Meridian Kew.

What happens if I bring in new business?

Meridian Kew offers financial incentives for any introductions or referrals that lead to new business.  If you know of potential projects with new clients and provide an introduction or make contact for us and this leads to us actually being hired, we will provide you with a cash bonus based on the nature and length of the new project.  Remember we provide a full range of services for businesses and other organizations.  If you want to discuss a potential project with us, please contact a Project Manager.

What will Researchers for Meridian Kew do?

Meridian Kew works with private individuals and organizations of all types and sizes: from international charities to top tier law firms; consultancies; small businesses and major corporations.  We offer a broad range of business services with projects as varied as: background checks on directors for multinational business clients; two month investigations and report production of specific product markets; assessing potential vendor applications; fact checking manuscripts; data analysis; editing and preparing presentations and new product pitches; and work placements at client sites.

When we receive a project, a Project Manager will contact Researchers to task them with the project.  The Project Manager lays out the project as a whole, the required format of the final the work product, the timeline and any relevant starting information such as suggested approach or potential data sources.  The Researcher then controls the remaining aspects of the project.  The Project Manager may periodically check-in for updates, to ensure the project has presented no unexpected hurdles or difficulties, and to ensure that the agreed timeline is being met.

Researchers work from wherever they are based.  Meridian Kew provides compensation towards any long-distance telephone or internet charges that may be incurred at rates set annually by Meridian Kew.

What does the application process involve?

First, we will want to see a résumé which can be submitted on our Submit Résumé page in text or Word format.  Many applicants choose to include a cover letter explaining their applications and parts of their résumés.  Once this is reviewed and if the résumé meets some basic criteria, we may proceed to the second stage of the process where we will contact you for a phone interview.  Phone interviews are designed to assess your phone manner and your ability to think on your feet.  Some of the most effective research is telephone-based and it is important to be polite and reserved but direct and knowledgeable enough to ensure the most effective results.  The third and final stage is a mock research project which should take up to one hour to complete using only the internet and which is designed to assess your knowledge of the internet, research ability and basic data presentation skills.

Some other Frequently Asked Questions:

Am I an employee of Meridian Kew? - No, Meridian Kew hires Researchers as Independent Contractors so you are never obligated to take a project.

Do I have to take any project you give me? - No, if you have other commitments just tell your Project Manager and he will find someone else.  We understand that you are busy and in no way hold the rejection of a project against you.

How often will I be paid? - Meridian Kew generally pays Researchers on a per project basis but understand that for longer projects it may be necessary to provide periodic advances for work done prior to the final settlement.  This can be discussed with your Project Manager at the start of a Project.

Who are Meridian Kew's clients? - The nature of the services we provide means that our clients range from large public companies to charities and individuals.  Meridian Kew is very strict about the privacy and confidentiality of our clients' identities and the work we do for them.  Normally, you will not know the name of Meridian Kew's clients.  You will be expected to read, sign and adhere to our privacy policy.
